The
Process of Registration of New Car in UAE
There are several ways to
roam around in the city of Dubai, you can get the advantage of public transport
or you might prefer to take your new car around. The term new car comes with several
conditions like driving license and car registration of course. If you prefer
to take your new car out in the city of Dubai make sure it is registered by the
RTA (Roads and Transport Authority).
On the purchase of your new
car, your car dealer will handle all the registration process for the whole
year. But in next consecutive year you might need to take care of the registration
process by yourself and for this, you should be aware of the registration
procedure. Otherwise, you might get a fine of five hundred AED, driving your
car with an expired license.
Ways
to Get Your Car Registered In Dubai
There are several ways to
register your new car, which we will discuss in this article and of course the
required documents and fees.
Documents
Requirement
The following documents are
required for the registration of your new car
Ø Your
UAE ID card or passport in case of Foreigner.
Ø Your
Driving License.
Ø Letter
of Authorization from the Showroom.
Ø In
case of financing, you will need a letter from the designated Bank.
Ø Insurance
certificated from the Company.
Ø In
case of renewal, you will need your old registration certificate.
Ø Vehicle
Test Certificate for old cars.
Fees
for Registration
1.
Fee for registering your new car is 340 AED
2.
Fee for Vehicle Test Certificate is 120 AED
3.
In case of re-test, a fee of 35 AED will be
charged.
Once you have gathered all
the documents you have to visit the RTA and submit the documents along with the
necessary fees. In a timeframe of 30 minutes your registration certificated,
new license plate and the stickers will be issued by the RTA.
Renewal
of Registration
There are 3 different ways
to renew your car registration which include; online, by using the application
and by visiting the self-service kiosk.

Online Process
1. Your
car must be insured.
2. Visit
the website of RTA and select “RENEW VEHICLE REGISTRATION”.
3. Select
the delivery option to get your registration card.
4. Pay
any outstanding dues (if any) and fee.
5. Once
done you will receive the online registration card for temporary use.

Through the App
1. Your
car must be insured.
2. Go to
the play store or apple store and download RTA Driver app.
3. Make
yourself register.
4. Select
Vehicles-Vehicle Registration and select Renew Registration
5. Select
the delivery option to get your registration card
6. Pay
any outstanding dues (if any) and fee.
7. Once
done you will receive the registration card for temporary use.

Visiting the Self-Service Kiosk
1. Your
car must be insured.
2. Visit
nearest self-service Kiosk.
3. Select
e-services and choose vehicle renewal.
4. Enter
your car details.
5. Pay
any outstanding dues (if any) and fee.
6. Once
done you will receive the registration card for temporary use.
